Residencias Artísticas Habitantes, recibe artistas de distintos orígenes en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, para dar apoyo al desarrollo de un proyecto, ya sea de investigación o creación, que pueda enriquecerse al compartir su proceso con esta Ciudad y con sus habitantes.
Ofrecemos un contexto flexible adaptado a cada proyecto para propiciar el proceso de creación/investigación, presentación, e intercambio con la comunidad local en sus diversas escenas.
Vemos al arte como una actividad de interés social en tanto generador de experiencias colectivas que involucran la sensibilidad y el intelecto como parte de un mismo proceso.
Proponemos a los artistas residentes que incluyan en su práctica la conciencia de habitar este tiempo de transición llamado “la residencia”.
Nos interesa promover el intercambio y la colaboración con la comunidad local, tanto en la escena del arte como de la vecindad no artística, permitiendo que el proceso artístico se impregne en y de la vida cotidiana.
Esta iniciativa no tiene su origen en la necesidad de “traer información de otros lugares”, sino en el deseo de brindar la oportunidad de contrastar visiones entre personas de procedencias diversas que habitan un mundo en común.
Por eso parte del programa de la residencia incluye encuentros de intercambio horizontal entre profesionales de las diversas disciplinas, proponiendo un habitar en común de un espacio sin rótulos.
Habitantes no hace distinción entre disciplinas o estéticas, basando la elección de los proyectos en la propuesta de cada artista y su resonancia con la propuesta de Habitantes y priorizando la forma de encarar un proceso y su desarrollo antes que el producto final.
Creemos que si en la forma se incluye el mundo habitado, el producto será de interés común mas allá de gustos y preferencias estéticas.
Inhabitants Artistic Residencies receives artists from different cultural backgrounds in Buenos Aires City, to give support to the development of a project, either a research or a production that could enrich itself by sharing its process with this city and its inhabitants.
We offer a flexible context, adapting to each project to support the process of creation/research, presentation and exchange with the local community in its diverse scenes.
We see art making as an activity of social interest, a generator of collective experiences including sensitivity and intellect as part of the same process.
We propose resident artists to include in their practice the awareness of inhabiting this transitional time called “the residency”.
We are interested on the exchange and collaboration with the local community, both within the arts scene as in the non-artistic neighborhood, allowing the artistic process to permeate daily life.
This initiative is not born out of a need of “bringing information from other places”, but of the wish of providing the opportunity to contrast visions among people with different background inhabiting a world in common.
Therefore part of the program includes meetings of horizontal exchange among professionals of diverse disciplines, among visitors and locals, proposing a common inhabiting of an unlabeled space.
Habitantes doesn´t make distinctions among disciplines or aesthetics, basing the selection of the projects on the proposal and its resonance with the proposal of the program. Placing the priority on the way of facing a project and its development, rather than on the final product.
We believe that if the inhabited world is included in the way, the product will be of common interest beyond tastes and aesthetic preferences.
